The Turkucake

Hello
I baked today. Then I ate it. It was a Turkucake, tasted like heaven of course.
And that's how it looked when I took it out of the oven.

The quiz

Wouldn't it be funny to test if you are like us - the inhabitants of Turku? Yes it would! So I - Julia - have done a quiz for you to test yourselves. Are you like most of us - a partyanimal, good in school, perfect, etc? Or are you something else...

We ain't no angels

1. What's your favorite kind of shoes?
a) I'm usually naked = no shoes..
b) Crocs ! Love them with my whole heart etc
c) Converses!

2. When you speak Swedish, does it sound like a weird dialect, or is it "pure Swedish"? (and yes, we consider you speak Swedish.)
a) Very pure, indeed.
b) It's sounds like another language, like some kind of .. Russian?
c) It just sounds like when you eat!

3. What is the thing you most likely would do a hot summerday (if there were no beaches)?
a) Walk or bike in the city and sit by the river and eat and sing
b) Sing
c) Eat

4. How would you react if you saw Michael Monroe walking by?
a) I'd say "normipäivä". I've seen him many times before walking around in his tight leatherpants.
b) Who is he?
c) I'd probably just stare and eat my hamburger.

5. When you party, how do you party?
a) I drink 'til I .. you know
b) I sit quietly with my friends around the table drinking. Then I go home.
c) I don't party. I eat.

6. If you look at the other side of the river, what do you call it?
a)"Tois pual jokkee"
b) "The other side of the river"
c)Nothing, really.. I'd probably just eat even more..

7. And finally, who is the best?
a) Julia (2nd place: Kira)
b) No one, we are all worth the same
c) Food..

THE RESULTS:
mostly answer A:
Congrats, u've reached the highest level of being Turku-ished. You are naked all the time, you drink a lot of alcohol (not good, not good), you have a very very very excellent Swedish and you rock.. Simple as that.

mostly answer B:
You're kinda random, but you seem like a nice person. Haha, however, you ain't TURKU-ISHED.

mostly answer C:
Well, at least you love food. So do we. But we also love other things, like walking around on the beach etc etc.. Have a nice life, but you're not very Turku-ished. Too bad..

Downtown

So me, Kira, Viivi, Emma and Tove met @ Café Latte last sunday at 8.30 pm and drank what we wanted. The best man in the world - aka GERARD - was there of course (the owner of the cafe) and played guitar for us and sang... He's so sweet, and so was my ice coffee! Ah, the best you can get! Cafe Latte is however our favourite place (address: Kristiinankatu) and you always feel so welcome when you go there. Gerard is smiling, saying something funny.. mm, I'll never stop going there. Never.

Viivi's drawing..

..this

Just let us know if you don't know what we're doing. The problem is, neither do we.

Tove and Kira. Kira wanted to flash a little.. she's always trying to do that..

TURKU

BTW, if there's something special you would like to happen here, JUST TELL US. Example: "hello Quelmude, we really love what u are writing, but we think your language is too sophisticated, so we hope you could write more like this: yoooo wazzuup, how u duin?? etc!"
Bad example. I'm ashamed of my self.

ingen krapul, ingen ripul

Okay, so, i'm going to leave Turku in 20 days, I'm moving to Helsinki for two months for "on-the-job learning". Clever translation...
The pictures basically show what's going on in my head.
Enjoy Turku our million readers...
